Let's Get Even More Digital
Following November’s IM Days presentation, ‘Let’s Get Digital’, Diane Spencer and Gillian Whichelo will be discussing NSERC-SSHRC’s continued path to digital transformation in greater detail. They will provide a quick recap of their plans to implement an IM Strategy, such as moving to Content Server 16, renewal of information architecture, and the evolution of IM Service Delivery. In particular, they will be discussing the move to Digital Signatures, preparations for increased digitalization, and the completion of the Cloud Security Categorization Tool.
About the Speakers:
Diane Spencer is the Manager of IM at NSERC and SSHRC. She has worked for 14 years in Information Management and Application Development in both public and private sectors. As the Acting Director of IM at the CNSC and the IM Manager at Parks Canada, she was the functional lead for information management, responsible for the management and oversight of IM Strategy and IM Service Delivery. In both organizations, she developed and evolved IM services and policy instruments to keep pace with business priorities, client expectations and changing policy requirements. Diane is also an active member of the GC IM Community and is keen to learn from others, share ideas and make IM better.
Gillian Whichelo is a qualified records manager and archivist. She has been working for over twenty years on IM initiatives in Canada and UK. Over the last 8 years, she has focused her attention on IM projects within numerous GC Departments and agencies and is known for her depth of knowledge and insight on all aspects of information management. She is passionate about ensuring that IM is firmly embedded within the business and is an active commentator on Digital Government and its impact on IM principles and practices.
