Navigating the world of Canadian privacy: 5 strategies for painless data
Are you preparing for a migration from RDIMS or fileshares to GCdocs or SharePoint? This presentation will share tried and tested strategies which reduce the time, effort and pain spent on planning and executing an effective data migration project. Using case studies, this interactive session will demonstrate how to map, clean, categorize, quarantine and delete redundant, obsolete and trivial data to support compliance with various mandated directives, while remaining compliant with PIPEDA.
About the Speaker:
Mark Evans is a senior sales engineer with Active Navigation and is based in Washington DC. Mark has over 20 years of experience in the information management discipline in both a technical and consulting role. He has supported over 100 projects in both Europe and North America, engaging with clients across government, commercial, academic and cultural heritage. Notable projects include software development effort on the world's first digital archive for the UK National Archives, lead subject matter expert on the NARA Electronic Records Archives program. In his current role Mark supports a broad range of information governance proof of concept and pilot projects across both government and commercial clients. Since joining Active Navigation Mark has taken exclusive responsibility for supporting early engagement with Government of Canada clients including AAFC, DND and OSFI.
